The reason communism collapsed in Eastern Europe and the USSR was because the ending of the cold war. This was probably the main reason why it had ended. The Diplomats had entered the Soviet Union without the help of the military. Because of this, the Berlin wall came crashing down splitting East Germany from West Germany.
